Exploring identity with “Orlando: My political biography”

In April Openscreen presented two screenings of the documentary Orlando: My Political Biography as part of our ongoing “Doc & Talk: Living Together” series.

Staying true to our aim of exploring the complexities of coexistence, the screenings invited our audience to reflect on the struggles faced by trans and non-binary individuals in today’s society.

The events took place on 15 April at Kinoler, Kahler and on 16 April at Ciné Sura, Echternach.

Each screening was followed by a thoughtful discussion, co-hosted by Vessela Vencheva from Openscreen and Erik Schneider from ITG (Intersex Transgender Luxembourg), who shared valuable insights and a deeply personal perspective with our audience. Two of the film’s protagonists connected live from Paris for the talks.

Through Orlando, we opened up a space for empathy, awareness, and meaningful exchange, staying committed to promoting openness to the world in all its diversity.
